The Chippenham Folk Festival

23rd to 26th May 2008 Four days of the best folk dance, song, music and traditions in the heart of  Wiltshire.

Chippenham Folk Festival takes place each Spring Bank Holiday. Folk music enthusiasts from all over county, in fact from much further afield, gather in the town for over 200 events over the four days. The High Street, Market Place, Olympiad Lesiure Centre along with the Neeld Hall are given over to music and dance. Not only is there dancing in the streets, but also on the Island Park, here too you will find craft and catering marquees. Just about every pub in the town will get a visit from men with bells around their ankles and a tankard on their belt.

Traditionally many visiting folk enthusiasts camp or caravan in one of the temporary sites arranged for the weekend. If you prefer a real roof over your head contact the Tourist Information Centre (01249 706333) for details of hotels and B & B accomodation.
