- Chippenham's Museum & Heritage Centre opened in March 2000 in the former magistrates court building in the Market Place. This building is said to be on the site of King Alfred's hunting lodge so you'll find plenty of reference to him inside, together with photographs and artifacts from other aspects of the towns past.
The centre is open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm. Admission is free.
