Emery Gate
Borough Parade

A quick walk around the shops.
If you are walking around the shops you may want first to know about the Car Parks.and Shop Mobility

New Look having recently moved a few yards in Borough Parade the old premises has reopened as another ladies wear shop M & Co. Elsewhere in Borough Parade you will find another phone shop; T Mobile following hot on the heels of Phones4U in Emery gate. I shall soon not need to list the phone shops at all. Just stop walking when the town centre, you'll be outside one!

Enjoy the pedestrian area of the town but don't forget there are many fine shops "over the bridge" and in The Causeway.
The Causeway has ladies clothes, art supplies and pictures and flooring shops.

If you want furniture, soft furnishings, computer products, or a bicycle, New Road from The Bridge, up beyond the railway viaduct to top of Park Lane, can supply your needs.
The Craft Company has all kinds of ornaments and gifts. Clocks, mirrors, mobiles glass and jewellery, go see for yourself.

Butter CrossFriday and Saturday sees Chippenham's Street Market. The location has changed at least five times in the last fifty years but after spending only few years in the gloomy but DRY!, purpose built covered market in Bath Road, it has returned to the Market Place proper around the re-erected Butter Cross.
Second Tuesday of each month there is the Wiltshire Farmers Market.    )

Coffee Break

Early risers will go for Jolly's in the Market Place. In the High Street proper there are coffee shops either side of the Town Hall. If you're in Borough Parade when thirst strikes, pop around the back corner towards the car park where you will find Munro's Café Bar.

At the top end of New Road (No 26), is Café Nova, . They do several varieties of coffee & tea plus a range of hot and cold snacks.

Make a Meal of It

You can find a fullish list of Cafés, Restaurants, Hotels & Pubs here.

If you fancy a McDonald's Restaurant, there is a drive through on the edge of town, next to Sainbury's where the Western by-pass crosses the A4. Also on the A4 between the railway and the Pheasant roundabout a new Pizza Hut. Next door to the B&Q diy warehouse.
At the northern end of the by-pass, where it meets the end of the dual carriageway from the M4 is a Little Chef.
